Eco-therapy; for those inclined to be outside
I believe healing happens in relationship — with ourselves, with others, and with the living world around us. My practice has roots in eco-therapy in which we can invite the natural world as a guide in co-regulation, reflection, and connection.
Whether we’re walking in the woods, sharing a park bench, tending to a plant, remembering a meaningful place — maybe from the secure nest of my office, the place I create for you — we can share in joy and sorrow, clarity and confusion, stillness and movement, all of what it means to be alive.
Just as ecosystems thrive in reciprocity, we also thrive when our inner world is held in relationship with the outer one. Connecting to the natural world can help you return to your body, calm your nervous system, and experience feeling more grounded in the present moment. Nature offers metaphors, rhythms, and mirrors that help us understand ourselves more fully. It can remind us of the parts of us that know how to nurture, protect, create, and imagine. These inner resources often emerge more easily when we are attuned with the living world, helping us return to a sense of wholeness and balance.
Witnessing cycles of growth, decay, and renewal can reveal layers to your own unique experiences of loss, change, or growth. We might return and revisit the same piece of trail, wait for and witness a leaf’s unfurling, attune to the light, notice what changes, what endures — the steady act of relating. It can open up a sense of meaning and belonging that carries beyond our sessions and into your daily life.
